ihhfgccg (1)Mediabarn has led the design, development, and collaboration of online educational products and websites since we opened our doors almost 10 years ago. So, naturally when Educational Media Creations Company (founders of the awesome children’s musical group, Silly Bus) decided it was time to bring their music and educational knowledge to the world of educational apps, it was a great fit. We were very excited to kick off a mobile project with Silly Bus! There was so much to consider, such as what age group to target and what games would be educationally compelling. In addition, we wanted to showcase the fun, educational content that Silly Bus creates and ensure it includes a healthy mix of entertainment and education.

For those of you that have brainstormed game concepts before, you know it’s really fun to do! You aim high, think unconventionally and come up with an overload of ideas. The challenge then becomes narrowing it down to what will work best for your audience and of course, business goals. We did just that!  Out of all our initial concepts, we ended up going with 3 solid ideas – a matching game, silly photo activities and of course, free access to Silly Bus music videos. The design phase was quite fun as we made these ideas come to life, followed by close collaboration with our development team to make sure the designs translated well into a native iOS environment. The app is now available in the App Store for both iPad and iPhone and we couldn’t be happier. We’re looking forward to Silly Bus’s next album – and creating the next iteration of the Silly Bus app!
